Lost an item or the plane or did your suitcase not arrive?

Handling agents at the airport are responsible for lost items and suitcases that did not reach the destination. Make sure to go to the handling agent and report your lost item directly when you see that your item is lost. Handling agents have offices inside the airport at the bagage claim area. The staff will provide you with a PIR note (Property Irregularity Report). On this report you will find a tracking number. With this number you can follow the latstest update or contact the handling agent to request an update.

Handling agents are NOT responsible for items lost within the airport (airport police) or during your stay in Crete.

Items lost during your stay in Crete or at transfers?

Items lost during your stay need to be reported to the police station nearby where you lost the item. Most police stations have English speaking staff members. The police will give you a lost item report so you can claim back lost items at the insurance incase the item has not been found back. Reports need to be made in person and can not be done online. Contact your travel agency incase your item was lost during transfers.
